With 84 locations in Haarlem and Spaarndam, we can offer every child a suitable childcare placement. Our long history, our extensive local network, intensive collaboration with schools and our sound educational knowledge allows us to quickly respond to society’s developments and needs.

What do we stand for?
We have been deliberately set up as a non-profit foundation with a social purpose. Offering high quality educational childcare is our absolute top priority, whereby every single child is central. It’s our mission to embark on an adventure with the children every single day, supporting them as they become the very best version of themselves. Our core values of Adventure, Fun, Learning and Attention are important to us and guide our policies and our working method. Our social commitment also includes devoting plenty of attention to the world around us and we enjoy contributing to a sustainable green world, within which children can grow and develop healthily.

As a social childcare organisation, Hero explicitly opts for operational management in which the profit is reinvested in the organisation. This guarantees sustainable quality and allows for innovation. We want to be able to offer childcare to all children, including those neighbourhoods where it isn’t profitable, but where children are in dire need of quality care. Hero also wants to ensure childcare facilities remain open and available in neighbourhoods where no profit is being made. We do this from a genuine sense of responsibility, which is widely supported within the organisation.

Who can make use of our services?
There will always be a local childcare facility near you in Haarlem and Spaarndam offering nursery, toddler care and after-school care for children aged 0-13. We are here for the parents too and we believe it is very important to be a complete and quality collaboration partner for the education sector and the municipality. We allow children to discover themselves, develop partnerships with parents and help our employees to optimally develop.
